hdf5-helpers software package provides Hierarchical Data Format 5 (HDF5) - Helper tools, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hdf5-helpers
hdf5-helpers is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hdf5-helpers package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hdf5-helpers *
You will get with hdf5-helpers package name, version, architecture and description in a table
